Provide Environmental, Health & Safety Leadership

  • Transforms plant safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental performance to world-class levels that align with division and Owens Corning corporate goals
  • Builds and fosters positive safety behaviors and performance among all plant employees
  • Reduces the plant’s environmental footprint
  • Monitors the work environment and ensures conformance to industrial health standards and guidelines
  • Supports the company value of Living Safety by actively engaging in wellness and off-the-job safety programs.

Develop skills and grow capabilities in the plant

  • Coach, mentor, and influence plant employees in order to develop Extraordinary Safety Leaders
  • Assess effectiveness of plant leadership from a safety perspective and provide developmental guidance as required
  • Continually reinforce the Company’s stand on safety, health and environmental stewardship
  • Recognize employee accomplishments and contributions
  • Maintain/upgrade ISO 14001/18001 system

Oversee compliance with governmental regulations and corporate programs

  • Ensure regulatory compliance of all environmental permits and processes Create, maintain, and oversee the compliance calendar for all regulatory and corporate requirements
  • Effectively address enforcement actions from local, state, or federal agencies
  • Provide expert technical support in identifying, and resolving critical regulatory issues
  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies and programs
  • Maintain the corporate management systems
  • Address deficiencies in internal EHS audits

Operational Sustainability Leadership

  • Provide site leadership for operational sustainability initiatives around reducing the company’s footprint in energy consumption, waste, water, air and greenhouse gas emissions
  • Actively participate in the operational sustainability data collection process to ensure standardized reporting across the company



  • Bachelors degree in EHS or related field, such as industrial hygiene, engineering, or science
  • 3-5 years of experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  •  Environmental discipline is strongly preferred


  • Professional certification preferred (CSP)
  • Management systems experience is a plus
  • Environmental and safety leadership experience preferred
  • Experience effectively engaging employees (union and non-union)


  • Strong working knowledge of environmental, health, and safety compliance law and industrial hygiene
  • Ability to identify hazards, critical process, and systems needs and implement appropriate action plans
  • Ability to influence and establish alignment with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to initiate and lead cross-functional teams and management/union committees to achieve facility and company objectives
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001
