SUMMARY

Coordinates and expedites the flow of materials for production.  Moves necessary materials to and from a production staging area to support individual daily work orders and shifts schedules.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Reviews production schedules and related information and confers with shift supervisors to determine material requirements to be staged.

Verify raw material inventories.

Reads work orders or follows verbal instructions to ascertain material to be moved

Issues/requisitions and/or transfers materials from warehouse to WIP according to work order and priorities and material availability.

Examines material delivered to production staging area to verify conformance to specifications.

Computes amount of material required to complete work orders.

Compiles and maintains computerized records such as material inventory, in process production reports and status and location of materials.

Moves materials from one department to another.

Receives and records and move/load finished goods by work order

Count and records number of units of material moved or handled on daily production sheet.

Verify finished goods work order count

Identify variances in raw material and finished goods.

Warehouse house keeping responsibilities

Back up shipper/receiver support

Operates Forklift to assist in loading and or moving material and products.

QUALIFICATIONS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 2 years fork lift experience.  Must be computer literate and experience in Visual Manufacturing software a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  The ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively with co-workers and supervisors of the organization in English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Fork lift training certificate.
