Pay Rate:                      $29.20/hr.


The purpose of the Operator is to lead the daily asphalt production process. You will work as part of a team to produce batches of high-quality asphalt products safely, efficiently and at a fast pace. Good mechanical skills, basic computer skills (training available) and good team communication skills are required.  This job also requires excellent self-direction working alone at times or in small teams with little direct supervision.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Notify your supervisor immediately of any accident, near miss or on- the -job injury when it occurs no matter how insignificant it may seem
  • Take personal ownership to work safely each and everyday and hold other team members to the same high standard of safety
  • Fix unsafe conditions and report them immediately to supervisor
  • Certify and operate in all the following areas: Polymer Modified Asphalt processing, Tanker truck loading and unloading, Flatbed truck loading and unloading, Railcar processing, Quality Control Procedures, Pre-Heater/Incinerator Operation, Boiler Operation, and Converter Operation.
  • Perform the administrative tracking tasks of data entry, BOL processing, production entry, receiving, and general organization in SAP, Excel, and MS Word.
  • Be able to climb tanks with heights of 50’, read panel displays, use operating manuals for troubleshooting, able to stand on your feet for most of the time in a 12-hour shift.
  • Become certified to operate a forklift.
  • Test, measure and enter data on quality using our computer system requiring general math skills and the ability to discern variation.
  • Attend, participate and help lead monthly meetings and training.
  • Participate in projects, equipment repairs and upgrades with maintenance personnel.
  • Possess the ability to learn and follow all plant environmental control policies and procedures.
  • Must be reliable, willing to work with others as a team, to perform day to day work or to help make and implement process improvements.
  • Complies with good housekeeping practices on the job.
  • Follows all environmental compliance polices & programs.
  • Comply with all plant rules
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Regular Attendance on site and ability to rotate to varying shifts
  • All other duties as assigned or needed


The employee should hold the following abilities:

  • Good communication skills

  • Able to think under pressure and make quick decisions
  • Ability to work well in a team or alone
  • Able to communicate in English
  • Ability to read a tape measure and do basic math


The employee must be able to:

  • Must be able to operate a computer or other keyboard instrument
  • Proficient in SAP PM Module


The employee should have the following:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Manufacturing or Asphalt production experience is a plus
  • Forklift knowledge useful


The employee should possess the ability to:

  • Ability to stand for 10 - 12 hours straight
  • Able to climb and descend stairs for up to 12 hours continuously
  • Lift and push and pull 50lbs. More than 100 times per day
  • Able to do repetitive hand, arm, leg movements for 12 hours
  • Must be able to squat, bend at the waist and knees freely
  • Exposure to temperature extremes
  • Exposure to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable
  • Bending and twisting
  • Handle, control or feel objects, tools or control
  • Repetitive movements
  • Able to climb on and off a forklift

***12-hour shifts working a schedule of two days on, two days off, three days on followed by two days off, two days on, three days off.  One complete cycle in two weeks will result in working a three-day weekend one week and a three-day weekend off the following week. We can explain in more detail during interview process***

A key component of Owens Corning success, the Denver Roofing plant has been making roofing shingles for over 50 years.

We are open 24 hours a day, which means you may not have a typical schedule. As a Full-Time team member, you would work 36 hours one week and 48 hours the following week.  Day 1, you are eligible to receive full company benefits including health insurance, dental and vision, vacation days, wellness incentives and much more.  On day 1, you will have an opportunity to earn towards quarterly incentives. Full-Time work schedules may include overtime hours.

It's a physical job! If you have never worked in a manufacturing environment before, you should understand that you will be on your feet for 90% - 95% of your shift. It also gets loud. While we want everyone to feel comfortable, our ability to control the temperature in our manufacturing plant is limited. Indoor plant working conditions are impacted by seasons and the weather.
