We are hiring for entry level Production Operators – L1.
PURPOSE
The basic job expectations for the entry level Production Operator – L1 are listed below. Mat utility operator, dry end operator, and redraw operator are all positions included in the job responsibilities of production operator level one.
SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION
Works as a team member and performs any duty within level on a rotation basis. Performs general production support duties as directed by supervisor. Doffs, inspects, weighs, labels and packs Mat production. Salvages products from out of spec materials and insures external quality of products salvaged. Performs general housekeeping and downtime cleaning activities. Bumps up and cross trains in higher levels as required. Active participant in TPM strategies and advancement through pillar activities.

The Fort Smith plant operates under a 12 hour shift, with two 15-minute breaks and one 30-minute lunch allowance. As a team member, each person participates in any number of team meetings. Eye protection is required in all non-office areas and hearing protection in assigned areas. Protective clothing and OSHA approved gear is used during confined entry. Any person would be expected to respond to alarms and react instantly to any condition by either notifying the appropriate personnel or personally responding. Must be able to read, understand, and operate control panels and respond to lighted displays. The employee is exposed to inside/outside year around temperatures ranging from 50 to 110 degrees. Is also exposed to the elements associated with the manufacture of Fiberglass products, such as binder and glass fibers. The physical aspect of the job is walking, standing, sitting and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
