Owens Corning is seeking a Digital Engineering Lead to help support its digital engineering integration across the engineering design, project delivery, manufacturing operation and digital twin technologies. One of the key elements of this transition will be to design and implement an integrated digital engineering system. This will involve the interconnection of multiple streams of design data and creation of standardized workflow to drive the efficiencies of the engineering design activities. The Digital Engineering Lead will support the vision, design and implementation of the system on a global basis for Owens Corning. The individual will be accountable to create/develop standards, implement software, and move the system into the standard design practice for OC and the OC engineering partners.

Reports to: Digital Engineering Leader
Span of Control: The Digital Engineering Lead will have multiple contract resources to manage. They will manage day to day work plans and priorities which align with the overall program goals as developed in conjunction with the Digital Engineering Leader.
Digital technology leadership: Leverage contemporary digital technology expertise to lead a full-scale IT transformation leveraging strong experience with a broad range of technologies including Digital Manufacturing, Industry 4.0, ERP deployment, infrastructure management, end-user services, cyber security, analytics, Big Data and Internet of Things. Educate and proactively influence organizational outcomes that increase value to our customers and shareholders
Business leadership:Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementation. Develop business case justifications andcost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
Thoroughly understand strategy, customer requirements, and cost drivers on a level that enables Owens Corning to accelerate the identification/implementation of technology opportunities that achieve strong business results.
Execute: Develop short and long-term strategic technology roadmaps and develop business cases for specific initiatives. Leverage execution methodologies to gather requirements, identify and segment users, execute release plans, and execute development strategies with pace. Clearly understand tradeoffs between business and technical teams.
Product Leadership: Facilitate system adoption and facilitate change management with stakeholders. Create training and educational materials for new and current users.
Innovate and think strategically: Partner with Global Information Services (GIS) to formulate and maintain product roadmap of current and future features and functionalities through immersion with user groups. Consistently look for leveraging opportunities with other technology organizations to facilitate early adoption of new technologies across business platforms. Gather and communicate data on metrics and provide analysis of data.
Collaborate and foster teamwork: Act to cultivate talent within the Digital Engineering organization, user groups, Advanced Manufacturing and business organizations to promote an engaging work environment. Increase the level of customer product awareness and value across the company.
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering, information technology, or similar field from an accredited college or university.
- At least 10 years of design/engineering experience
- At least five years of digital technology leadership experience
- Advanced degree in engineering, information technology, or similar field
- Relevant professional certifications
- Experience in the manufacturing industry
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Strong working knowledge of all aspects of digital, IT, and manufacturing technology and the ability to apply this knowledge in a distributed environment.
- Knowledge and expertise in enterprise infrastructure, cyber security, and/or digital innovation.
- Effective, articulate and proactive communicator able to explain the company's digital vision and strategy both within and outside the company.
- Experience with CAD and CAE systems, PLM systems, AutoDesk Inventor, 3D, Solidworks, and ePlan Software
- Experience collaborating with 3rd party providers, agencies, development teams
- Excellent customer service and technology team representation
