Safety Leadership

  • Working safely is everyone’s responsibility

Electrical Controls & Sensor Development (50%)

  • Partner with plant engineers to develop measurement capabilities and controls solutions for the Manufacturing shop floor
  • Collaborate with Granville Science & Technology colleagues to develop controls and measurements systems where no off-the-shelf technology exists
  • Work closely across the Advanced Manufacturing team to develop competencies and solutions impacting the controls, automation, robotics, process, analytics, preventative maintenance, and information systems
  • Innovate and test new plant floor solutions with the controls lab space, validating concepts from inception to industrialization impacting Owens Corning Manufacturing
  • Partner with the Information Technology team to develop and communicate standards across the controls landscape

Project Leadership (30%)

  • Direct accountability for scope, budget. Resources, communication, change management, training, testing, deployment, controls, and user acceptance for project
  • Indirect leadership of personnel and management of internal and external project resources to accomplish goals

  • Bachelors or Masters degree students in Electrical Engineering or closely related field (Preferably rising Senior)
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Travel approximately 20%
  • Previous execution of small to large scale projects
  • Strong communication

  • Experience in electrical controls (or closely related field) as applied in manufacturing or other related industry
  • Engagement in project management, communication, and a team oriented organization
  • Demonstration of educational and/or industry knowledge in the electrical & controls fields (or related subject)


  • Familiarity with the following technical concepts
    • Laser, infrared, vision systems, robotics, optical, ultrasonic, and other measurement technologies
    • PID controls
    • Controls architecture
    • PLC configuration and programming
    • Advance process control
    • HMI development
