The Glass Reinforcements Americas Business Finance Leader provides commercial reporting and analysis to the Glass Reinforcement Americas business. They will be a dynamic leader who will partner with the commercial, margin enhancement and finance leaders to provide meaningful insight, forecast analysis, reporting, as well as working on various projects to support the organization’s strategic short and long-term objectives. The successful candidate must possess excellent analytical and communications skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. This position supports the commercial organization and reports directly to Glass Reinforcements Americas Finance Leader.

Reports to: Glass Reinforcements Americas Finance Leader

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Driving the financial performance of the business segment
- Leads actions in line with achieving targets, mitigating risk and prioritizing resource needs
- Leads proactive development of contingency plans, productivity improvement, and correction actions to ensure financial results and shareholder value are optimized
- Provides insightful and competitive analytics that anticipate change and drive decision making
- Collaborate with the Commercial Sales Director to provide decision support through financial modeling, business case analysis and financial/management reporting
- Assists in contract evaluation and negotiation, evaluates financial implications of specific business decisions/opportunities and advises management accordingly to ensure targeted financial performance achievement
- Provides predictable business projections via sales/operations planning and financial forecasting
- Ensures high quality and effective staff work
Strategic planning, operations planning and forecasting
- Direct the development of the segment’s long-term strategic and annual operations plans, and ensure appropriate actions are in place for effective execution
- Leads financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes for the mechanical and commercial insulation segments
Reporting & Analysis
- Lead initiative that leverages technology (BI) to create consistent and efficient reporting and analytics across Glass Reinforcements generating an outcome of sales reporting and analytics that can be used by the sales force, finance and management
- Provide objective insights, timely reporting, effective analysis and overall finance support to ensure productive management reviews, financially based decisions. and proactive response to market conditions
- Help manage P&Ls for the Glass Reinforcements Americas businesses and effectively communicate results to Commercial Leaders/Product Managers
- Identify risks and ensure accountable action plans are in place to mitigate them
- Communicates results effectively to management and non-financial personnel
- Provides in-depth analysis on variances to plan and forecast
Cross-functional leadership and team contribution
- Live the safety stand, adhering to safety responsibilities
- Work across organizational boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve plant, division or corporate objectives
- Shares best practices across businesses divisions, i.e., process improvements, financial modeling and procedures changes
- Aligns teams and resources in order to solve problems and drive results
- Provides support to team members at plant, segment, and corporate level
- Ensures global OC & Composites perspective in collaboration with other business segments
Leading & Developing Talent
- Creates an environment where talent is developed through effective performance management, talent evaluation systems and utilization of people
- Acts as a resource to the non-financial leaders of the business providing education and training on the key principles of Finance
- Grows and develops direct reports and/or other members of the finance team and other identified talent in their organization
- Ensures succession plans are executed for focus roles
Financial & Operational Controls
- Ensures that there is an effective and efficient system of internal controls including: data integrity, asset protection, segregation of duties, budgeting, financial reporting, information systems and adherence to corporate policies and governmental regulations (GAAP, SOX compliance, etc.)
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or relevant discipline a must. MBA, CMA, CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years corporate finance experience preferably with manufacturing or industrial experience
- Demonstrated high growth in previous experience, process designer and implementor
- Experience with SAP, Business Objects, and Business Explorer or similar systems required.
- Proven experience in attracting, developing, and retaining outstanding talent and successors
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Leadership to organizations within manufacturing operation(s)—leading operations planning, savings, forecasting and investment analysis
- Operating in a range of economic conditions, i.e. expansion, contraction, stable economic conditions—forecasting, scenario planning, risk analysis and contingency development
- Negotiating, developing and evaluating customer and supplier contracts
- Participating in the development of strategic plans and financial planning & forecasting
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Strong financial and analytical acumen with demonstrated analytical ability accompanied by knowledge of corporate finance and manufacturing costing principles—understands P&L and balance sheet dynamics
- Demonstrated ability to teach and communicate in simple, impacting terms
- Demonstrated ability to manage and control costs—effectively develops business cases and enroll leaders at all levels in taking appropriate action
- Demonstrated ability to develop an intimate knowledge of customers, competition, and the market and uses this knowledge to drive customer and product profitability decisions
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute strategic directions
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and PowerPoint) skills
- Distills multiple points of view and inputs to develop near and long-term actions
