The Composites Portfolio Leader is accountable for creating and advancing the composites growth agenda from supporting the strategy creation to leading and establishing management systems designed to accelerate results.

The successful candidate will be a catalyst in helping Owens Corning drive organic growth in a more efficient manner.  In all aspects of the position, this candidate demonstrates teamwork and commitment to the success of Owens Corning.

Responsibility #1 Effectively lead and manage the Composites Leadership Team PRB management system to ensure quality discussions are conducted at CLT PRB that lead to decisions to advance our growth agenda and lead to actual profitable revenue growth.

  • CLT PRB Meeting: ensure agenda and associated presentations align with Top Growth initiatives and promote executive review cadence accordingly
  • Project PRB: ensure agenda allows the business to drive the delivery of the projects to meet the growth strategy.
  • NW Regional PRBs: ensure agenda allows the business to drive the delivery of the projects to meet the growth strategy.
  • Meeting follow up: challenge and coordinate with key leaders to ensure decisions made and requests made are implemented
  • Learn the Business: use this opportunity to become familiar with Composites business and drivers of growth and profitability

Responsibility #2 Assess Composite Portfolio efficiency by leveraging analytics and drive continuous improvement to Portfolio management enhancing further growth 

  • Lead the strategy for and creates data-oriented assessments of investment and return on the growth initiatives using the data from Velocity.
  • Establish short-medium-long term view of a growth agenda and investment in growth that leads to shareholder value creation and have this view become standard work and used as a decision-making tool in the management system
  • Critical reviews of growth results/commitment/aspirations versus investment
  • Ensure executive discussions take place with reliable data to guide short term execution of approved/aligned growth agenda while also developing the next generation of growth initiatives

Responsibility #3 Lead the strategy and process for use of Velocity in Composites

  • Engaging the organization as required to make Velocity  a user friendly and used system
  • Work with the GIS team to ensure that the Velocity tool is fit for purpose for use across the Composites business (GR, Wind & NW) and provides the output to the teams (SM Directors / S&T leaders) to enable effect management of the portfolio.
  • Ensure relevant data (revenue, gross margin [hard coded assumptions by finance], and headcount from aligned pools of talent we want to track) is in the system through timely updates.
  • Ensure that Velocity becomes the central database for growth strategy and follow up discussions.  Make sure to understand Velocity ecosystem and potential overlaps with other IT Tools (CRM, Valkre..) to enhance further clarifications
  • Learn the Business: use this opportunity to become familiar with Composites business and drivers of growth and profitability

Responsibility #4 Ownership of the Comintelli MI System for Composites

  • Ensure that the taxonomy for the system is constantly updated to ensure continued relevance to the Composite teams.
  • Manage the “seats” in the system to ensure cost effective performance
  • Work with the Marketing Directors to ensure relevant newsletters / alerts are available to the teams.
  • Share best practice with the Insulation / roofing teams to improve the performance of the system.



  • An undergraduate degree is required (business or technical degree preferred); an MBA or equivalent working experience is beneficial
  • 5+ years of Sales or Marketing experience in B2B environment


  • Trusted member of the composites strategy team
  • Experience working in matrix organizations with multiple distribution channels and influencers with accountability across geographic and cultural boundaries
  • Experience with cross-functional teams.  Aptitude to build strategic and execution-focused plans and alliances with partner leadership
  • Effective planning and execution of communications for internal and external stakeholders, both written and verbal
  • Good analytical skills to develop and present strong analysis of how to improve process performance.
