Owens Corning Canada is seeking a Technical Sales Manager (TSR) for Ontario, Canada.  As a member of the Canadian Technical Sales team; you will work with Builders, Architects, Engineers and Insulation Contractors in your region to help them design and build durable, resilient and energy efficient buildings using Owens Corning innovative products and complete enclosure solutions. You will also provide technical support to our customers and our sales team in the region.  The incumbent will also represent Owens Corning on Provincial Builder and Architectural Associations and on strategic Code bodies to help develop Canadas roadmap towards Net Zero ready performance for new buildings by 2030.

This position reports to the Canadian Technical Services and Codes & Standards Manager: Salvatore D. Ciarlo

Home Office Based: Ontario Canada

Responsibilities:

Creating differential value for our customers

  • Promote the value of Owens Corning innovative products and system solutions that meet customers’ needs with Architects, Engineers, Builders, Institutions and Technical/Trade colleges in Ontario, Canada.
  • Represent Owens Corning at key industry events and Associations and on Code developing bodies
  • Drive, deliver and communicate company vision and priorities
  • Evaluate new product opportunities and work with cross functional teams to develop solution

Developing Territory Strategy

  • Develop and enhance relationships with new and existing customers
  • Manage project leads and projects tracking system

Execution – Delivering Results

  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and building science seminars to promote innovative products

     and complete enclosure solutions

  • Onsite training for construction trades, building officials and builders
  • Coordinate field testing with third party agencies
  • Communicates the full value that can be derived from each of our products, services, systems and solutions; individually and collectively
  • Provide technical support to customers and regional sales teams
  • Participate in the development of industry standards and Provincial Code related to energy efficiency
  • Continually seeks knowledge of the competition and shares the information back into the organization in a way that can shape action and drive growth
  • Provides input on trends, issues, threats and identifies opportunity for growth
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams to develop high value solutions meeting customers’ needs
  • Ensures a safe, clean and environmentally compliant work environment and builds a culture where safety is a top priority

Job Requirements

Experience:

  • Working with the design community to educate and get products specified
  • Supporting builders in the field to implement high performance building envelope systems
  • Solid experience delivering impactful presentations and demonstrations
  • Developing and writing technical literature
  • Market development

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Building science knowledge
  • Building construction knowledge (residential and commercial construction industry)
  • Knowledge of industry related products and standards and Building Codes  
  • Blueprint reading
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, WUFI & HOT 2000 software is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships
  • Superior presentation and communication skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or Science related field is preferred
  • Professional Degree in Architectural Technology
  • Relevant sales and market development experience is an asset
